Private Pilot Program.
Ground school and flight training at home in your VR practice area. Then accelerated pilot training in northern New Jersey to finish your FAA Private Pilot certificate.
Live in North Jersey?
If your flight school doesn't offer VR flight training, you can train with us. Submit your application, and if accepted into the program, here are the steps.
- We approve your FAA student pilot application, and you are issued your certificate.
- You select an approved AME and pass an FAA Medical Exam.
- You select a ground school from our list of approved schools. Ground school will prepare you to pass your FAA written examination.
- You enter the Learn to Fly Solo, VR Home Sim program.
- You pass your FAA written exam. We require our students to pass with a minimum of 85%.
- You complete your pre-solo phase checks with your CFI in VR and graduate to in-aircraft flight training.
- You fly in-aircraft, and in-simulator on the same day until you solo in-aircraft.
- We schedule your FAA checkride with a Designated Pilot Examiner.
- You transition to Cross Country, night and basic attitude instrument flight to build your FAA minimum flight experience.
- You start accumulating your remaining solo experience.
- You pass your FAA Checkride.
Why train
in virtual reality?
Our program is built on the principle of deep practice. We use cutting-edge virtual reality to create fully immersive, simulator-based training. This ensures our students can practice consistently, without delays from weather, in a distraction-free environment. Their VR practice area is ready every day, rain or shine, to help them master flight.
The US military has been using VR to teach their pilots for years. In 2023, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base made the following statement in their remarks to the public:
The picture may be worth a thousand words but the virtual reality makes it like a thousand-thousand words are speaking to you all at once. In the end, this allows students to gain a much higher level of mastery of the skills they need to be competent at the end of the program.
NAFI invited us to Oshkosh
to talk about VR.
In July 2026, the National Association of Flight Instructors invited us to talk about using virtual reality in private pilot training, at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The talk covers how instructors can use VR with their own students, to improve how those students learn and to make them safer pilots.
